Ear Nose And Throat Specialists
An Otolaryngologist is an ear, nose and throat specialist or an ENT specialist. After many years of college and postgraduate work, an ENT specialist may choose to focus on one of seven areas. Otology and neurotology’s focus is on the diseases of the ear. Those with cancerous disorders, traumatic maladies, and nerve damage of the external, middle and inner ear would receive treatment from this specialist. Pediatric otolaryngology is treatment that focuses on children. An ear, nose and throat specialist may also focus on the head and neck such as a focus on cancerous and non cancerous tumors. Facial, plastic and reconstructive surgery is another area of concentration. An ENT specialist may focus on disorders of the nose and of the sinuses. This is called rhinology. Or he or she may focus on problems with the throat which is called laryngolgoy. Finally an ENT specialist may choose to focus on allergies or the upper respiratory system.
